Few things reflect the diverse vitality of downtown Baton Rouge more than the Poetry Slam. At once artsy, provincial, arrogant, modest, crude, and beautiful, the Slam brings an amazing cross section of our population to 3rd Street on Wednesday nights. Belly dancers, cowboy pipefitters, gothic teenagers, renowned academicians, and wine-crazed elevator mechanics disgorging breathtaking imagery, all make up this cornucopian performance. Enjoy!
